I’m very excited to hold my pet photography course here in my home village in Greatworth, Oxfordshire.
I’ve always been mad about photographing animals but I’m far too impatient to be a full-blown wildlife photographer! I’ve got two dogs, Bally and Milly, which I have vague control over, and one of my favourite things to do is to photograph them. Now you can join in on the fun! There are only 8 places available as I would like to give each of you one-to-one tuition throughout the day.
This workshop focuses on dogs but the skills learned can be used in many other genres of photography.
We will be ‘on location’ with the dogs in many different scenarios so we can get as many different shots as possible, prepare to get a bit muddy!
By the end of the session you will have creative control over your DSLR and to be able to produce images you are proud of. I will also guide you through my post-production workflow and we can edit some of your favourite shots of the day.
NOTE: At no point will there be a boring Powerpoint presentation. All the tutorials and techniques are carried out in the field.
I absolutely loved my workshop with John. He's a fantastic teacher and incredibly patient. He's got so much enthusiasm for photography, it's infectious! I feel much more comfortable with my camera and looking forward to booking an advanced course in the near future.
John's informal style and intuitive understanding of what you need makes the one-to-one photography workshop both fun and informative. If you are thinking of doing a course, let me vouch for John as a natural teacher with insane levels of knowledge. I can't rate him highly enough
Now I am hooked! I would recommend John to anyone who wants to learn to love photography… John’s style is relaxed, he is very knowledgeable and is a pleasure to be around, as he is centred upon making sure you enjoy taking great pictures.
I was looking for some photography classes in the Oxford area, I was particularly interested in learning more about the technical side of photography. I came across John’s website whilst searching on Google. I was immediately impressed with his work and loved his style of imagery. I booked a 1:1 session with John, and I am so pleased I did. The knowledge he shared with me has been so beneficial to my work and to the growth on my photography business. There wasn’t anything John didn’t know, or couldn’t help me with. I learnt so much in the short time I spent with him. We spoke about the theoretical side of things and then followed that through with practical exercises, this really helped me to learn and remember what he had taught me. Since my initial 1:1 I have had another session with John, and again he was great at understanding some of the issues I was experiencing and helped me to learn how to correct these. I would recommend anyone who is interested in Photography to have a workshop with him, he really has helped me develop and learn a lot as a newly set up photographer. John has great knowledge across the fields of photography and whether you are interested in either the creative side of things, or the technical, he will be sure to help you develop in either area
I really enjoyed my one to one workshop with John. I thought I knew how to use my camera but it turns out that I barely knew anything about it. John is an amazing teacher, he's so willing to help you even if it means repeating the same information a dozen times. I have already booked myself onto the Cotswold's Safari Park workshop!
